Performing Arts & Media Consultancy

Performing Arts Support

A career in the performing arts can be inspiring and fulfilling - but it also comes with its own unique pressures. The uncertainty of freelance work, financial instability, irregular routines, performance-related stress, and the isolation that can accompany creative life all have a cumulative impact on mental wellbeing.

We recognise how these challenges can affect not just your professional life, but your overall sense of self. Our service is designed to provide a confidential, non-judgemental space for performers, creatives, and media professionals to explore their experiences. Whether you're facing ongoing stress, struggling with performance anxiety, dealing with low mood, or simply feeling overwhelmed, we’re here to offer skilled psychological support tailored to the creative industries.

Therapy with us is available on a self-funded basis, and we are also registered providers through the British Association for Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM), which may enable you to access funded therapy sessions depending on your circumstances. We’re happy to guide you through the process and help you explore which route may be most suitable.

Taking the first step can be difficult - especially when you're used to putting on a brave face or working under pressure - but you don’t need to navigate it alone. We’re here to listen, to support, and to help you build resilience so you can continue doing the work you love.

In addition, we recognise the specific mental health challenges faced by musicians and music professionals. As part of our wider commitment to supporting those in the music industry, we also work in alignment with Music Minds Matter - a dedicated, 24/7 mental health support service for anyone working in music. They offer free and confidential access to mental health professionals and may be able to help you access funded therapeutic support. You can find more information and explore eligibility by visiting the Music Minds Matter website.

To find further guidance, practical resources, and information about funded therapy, visit the BAPAM website. Your mental health matters - and specialist support is available.

TV and Media Consultancy

Working in television, film, and audio production brings unique pressures - not only for contributors and participants, but for production teams and editorial staff alike. We offer dedicated psychological consultancy for creative media projects, ensuring mental health and duty-of-care considerations are properly integrated at every stage of the production journey.

Whether you’re producing a high-profile documentary, a reality series, or a long-form podcast, we understand the ethical and emotional complexities involved in working with contributors and sensitive content. Our consultancy is tailored to support safe, ethical, and psychologically informed production processes - from initial planning through to post-broadcast.

Why choose a psychological consultant?

Including a qualified mental health professional in your production process helps demonstrate your commitment to ethical standards and contributor care. With increasing scrutiny around the psychological impact of unscripted and factual programming, taking a preventative and informed approach protects both your contributors and your production team - ethically, reputationally, and legally.

Our services include

  • We assess and advise on potential psychological risks related to contributors, content, and production dynamics. Our goal is to help you create emotionally safe environments and mitigate harm to individuals involved.

  • Working collaboratively during the planning phase, we offer in-depth psychological risk assessments that consider both contributor welfare and editorial objectives. We help identify where additional support, consent processes, or risk mitigation may be needed.

  • Where appropriate, we can provide professional opinions on whether contributors are psychologically able to take part in a production, and under what conditions. This supports ethical inclusion and upholds your duty of care responsibilities.

  • We offer support during filming - either remotely or on-site - to assist with emerging mental health concerns, support contributor wellbeing, or help your team manage unexpected challenges sensitively and appropriately.

  • We recognise that the impact of a production doesn’t always end when filming wraps. We offer follow-up support for contributors and advice to producers on managing reactions to broadcast, social media exposure, or critical reception.
